Frostwinter : The Hour Of Decline [2010]

Frostwinter is a Death Industrial/Dark Ambient one-man project from Germany, which was formed in the middle of the year 2006.
Musically inspired by (old school) Industrial, Post Industrial, Musique Concrète, Bruitism and similar genres, it moves thematically (within a nihilistic intention), amongst other things, about the deconstruction of the anthropocentric worldview by the occident, the exploitation/torture of (non-human) animals, (metaphysical/cultural pessimism and a general reflection about degenerated manners of the human species.

Flint Glass + Polarlicht 4.1 + Transistor : Zoran's Equation [2011]

Zoran’s Equation is a collaborative instrumental album from France’s Flint Glass and Germany’s Polarlicht 4.1 with Transistor (Polarlicht’s side project), and the results are an album that plays like an experience rather than just music. The static, ambient, and dark sounds on each of the album’s 10 selections seem to create sci-fi worlds from your favorite video game or movie, transporting you with ease and precision. While it may not be for everyone, anyone looking for a musical experience is likely to enjoy this fantastic, soundtrack-like collection of songs.
When beginning to listen to Zoran’s Equation’s opener, “Mange-Machine,” it is very obvious that the album is presenting a story of some kind with the sounds of air, faint talking, static, and clicks and beeps that sound like that of a machine being built. The sound is haunting and almost sinister in nature. The third song on the album, “Which Does Not Exist, Exists” brings with it a feeling of discovery just as its title suggests and almost bounces you into the moments of said discovery, while “The Ice People” is ripe with the sounds of footsteps and what could be machinery or maybe stalactites falling in a frozen cavern; incredibly effective and interesting. Listening further on, the album drags you deeper into the various dark sounds and ambience, perfectly illustrated by “Isolation” and “Aurore Australe.” The final track on the album, “Sleeping Beauty” is a beautiful creation of contemplative sounds that lead you through to the final seconds of the music and leave you to contemplate the world you’ve just traversed as well as the meanings that could be drawn up from its sounds.
Flint Glass, Polarlicht 4.1, and Transitor make a great combination, creating ambient, dark, industrial soundtrack music that captures as well as entertains. The music itself beautifully illustrates its own world and draws you in, full of depth and ambience. This collection isn’t for everyone, but those who are willing to explore it with an open mind will find it hard to tear themselves away from the world of Zoran’s Equation.

Funerary Call : Beckoning At The Black [2004]

"Beckoning At The Black" is six tracks of sheer black orchestral ambience with the requisite crunching drums and whispered / distorted vocals. Add to this the ominous waves of electronics, the odd piano piece, very popular nowadays within this style of music, a little drone-like passage and what sounds like a panpipe in full flow. The music created gives the perfect impression of creeping unease and discomfort and ever impending dread that it‘s ultimately trying to convey. A sort of nightmare music for the nightmare generation.

Die Sektor : The Final Electro Solution [2012]

In little over a year since their controversial and boundary
breaking second album, "Applied Structure in a Void", DIE SEKTOR
return with their darkest yet most refined album to date. On
their third full length release they continue to push the limits
of dark electro music: they sound meaner, angrier and altogether
more menacing. The sense of hope found on the previous album
seems to have vanished completely. This time the listener is
taken into an internal world, unstoppable in its folly and
imminent collapse.
In typical DIE SEKTOR fashion "The Final Electro Solution" is
filled with metaphors, double meaning and hidden references
which leave the listener with several ways to interpret each
song. The project describe the album as "an apocalyptic themed
nervous breakdown, to be played in stereo". Expect the signature
complex arrangements, glitches, insane melodies and unique
rhythms DIE SEKTOR are known for. From out of the void comes
"The Final Electro Solution"!

Sonar : Cut Us Up [2012]

It has been six years since SONAR's last album, a time spent
working on different projects and world wide touring for Dirk
Ivens and Eric van Wonterghem. Since 1996 they have thoroughly
explored the dark corners of rhythmic industrial whilst bringing
their own unique ingredients to the mix - With "Cut Us Up" the
Belgian project secure their position among the sovereigns of
this genre.
The classic propulsive beats are still the driving force on most
tracks, while SONAR fill the space in and around the drum hits
with scraping noise chords, disturbing sampled voices and
throbbing sub-basses. Combative, violent bursts of industrial
uproar and rhythmic scalpels refined with intelligent sequencing
result in massive blocks of monolithic sound, each one with
noise as a basic ingredient, each one performed in a different
way. This album marks a raw, overpowering tour de force - an
overwhelming, visceral, and relentless rhythmic onslaught
created in the dark wastes of the concrete jungle.

Sektor 304 : Subliminal Actions [2011]

If ever all hope was lost in the industrial genre – despair not, as it should be fully renewed after a journey to the metallic wasteland hell that is Subliminal Actions. With influence clearly rooted in the works of the early industrial masters like Test Dept, Einstürzende Neubauten, and SPK, Sektor 304 take this confrontational sound to new depths of depravity. Formless, unstructured audio chaos elicits far more from the human mind than any limited 4/4 composition, which is why the darkest music of this kind brings out the beast in man. Simplistic and ritualistic percussion, both natural and metallic, lead the charge through jarring swells of filthy noise and abrasively crunching bass lines. Everything is at once menacing, chaotic, and rhythmic – there is never time to cease; forward, inexorable momentum is all it knows. Even the most sludge-filled plodding moments have a sense of immovable fury and ever-expanding enormity. Suffocation seems to be the number one goal of this dense and enveloping beast, and even what seems like solace is really an empty cloud of vibration too low for the human ear. Over the layers of subtle and harsh noise, over the tribal clatter of machine-like antagonism, and over the lowest frequency churns of Tartarus screams a demonic madman: at one instance a harbinger of fear and at the next a soothsayer. In some of these harrowing vocals are pure anger, sheer hatred, and unnerving fear – a full range of primal expressions.

Funerary Call : Dark Waters Stirred [2010]

Heralded as one of the progenitors of black ambient music, Funerary Call (aka Harlow MacFarlane of Sistrenatus) returns from dormancy with his darkest release to date. "Dark Waters Stirred" is a ceremonial maelstrom of ominous electronics, doom-laden guitars and dark ambient textures. An audial descent into ritualistic obscurity and misanthropy. Features guest appearances from the likes of Deathlord (Blasphemy, ex-Conqueror), and Troy Southgate (H.E.R.R., Seelenlicht) amongst others.
