Skinny Puppy : Bootlegged, Broke & In Solvent Seas [2012]

“Now is the only thing that’s real…”

Raw, uncompromising, and visceral, Skinny Puppy live cannot be called simply a concert. It is an experience. Bootlegged, Broke And In Solvent Seas proves this to be true. Recorded in Warsaw, Bratislava, Hildesheim, and Budapest, this is a documentation of Skinny Puppy in top form. Unlike so many other live albums, there is no editing magic or trickery. These are the songs as they were played: captured from the soundboard and a handheld recorder by Ken ‘Hi-Watt’ Marshall. Ogre’s powerful vocal performances coupled with cEvin Key’s synth modulations and sound manipulations and the machine-precise drums of Justin Bennet make this a stunning testimony to the power of this legendary act.

Die Sektor : The Final Electro Solution [2012]

In little over a year since their controversial and boundary
breaking second album, "Applied Structure in a Void", DIE SEKTOR
return with their darkest yet most refined album to date. On
their third full length release they continue to push the limits
of dark electro music: they sound meaner, angrier and altogether
more menacing. The sense of hope found on the previous album
seems to have vanished completely. This time the listener is
taken into an internal world, unstoppable in its folly and
imminent collapse.

In typical DIE SEKTOR fashion "The Final Electro Solution" is
filled with metaphors, double meaning and hidden references
which leave the listener with several ways to interpret each
song. The project describe the album as "an apocalyptic themed
nervous breakdown, to be played in stereo". Expect the signature
complex arrangements, glitches, insane melodies and unique
rhythms DIE SEKTOR are known for. From out of the void comes
"The Final Electro Solution"!

Xotox : Eisenkiller (Limited Edition EP) [2012]

With this special EP in two different editions, XOTOX celebrate
10 years of "Eisenkiller".
"Eisenkiller" was first released in 2002 on the self-produced
album "Silberfieber" before being included on the official debut
album "Lichtlos", released by Pro Noize, the label that had
signed XOTOX in the meantime. It became THE ultimate club anthem
and is probably one of the reasons why "Lichtlos" became THE
benchmark album for the act and the scene. And for the very
first time an industrial act managed to reach number 1 on the
German Alternative Charts (DAC), staying there on the top spot
for several weeks!

Now, in 2012, this special celebration EP not only includes the
original track from 2002, buy also contains a radically reworked
"2012 version" and remixes by BAHNTIER, AFTER WHITE SMOKE,
AUTOCLAV1.1 and JEAN BACH as well as "Digitale Demenz", a
previously unreleased (and officially unfinished) track from
2008.

As a special bonus we also get two demo versions/exclusive
previews of tracks currently being recorded for the upcoming
album. This EP is strictly limited to 1000 copies, of which 300
pieces are being released as this special fan edition which
contains a hand-numbered (punched) rusty metalplate with logo
and three stickers! We highly recommend to place your orders
fast!

C-Lekktor : X-Tension In Progress (2-CD Limited Japanese Edition) [2012]

With their debut "The Silence Progression" (2008) and the remix
album "Tendencias Suicidas" (2010), Mexico's harsh electro
wizards C-LEKKTOR have already managed to cause a sensation on
the dance floors. Time for another tone attack ... the follow-up
rocket was mixed and mastered by Jan L. (X-FUSION, NOISUF-X),
and is a thunderstorm offering thirteen tracks, picking up the
established sound of the band, but also adding some new sound
colors!

"Influences from hardcore and hardstyle refresh our music and
lead into a new direction", singer Markko states. "Aggressive,
danceable and rough ingredients can be found on the new opus.
Tracks like 'Alteracion' or 'Sick of You' remind of our classic
sound, while songs like 'Dark Reflection', 'Wrecked' and
'Hardbeat [Mu]-Sickk' present a 'bad ass hardcore' attitude that
make you want to move onto the dancefloor for the slam, and
you're also going to find female vocals like in 'In Memorian'."

C-LEKKTOR show us what hell tastes like. "The Mayas predicted a
new age for 2012, and this CD is proof of it", declares Markko.
"Depressive, furious, fast and catchy musickk for the end of the
world. The apocalypse has begun in Mexico."

Solar Fake_Why Did I Raise The Fire

Solar Fake : Frontiers [2011]

The German Electro act Solar Fake which is the creation of Sven Friedrich, also known as the singer and frontman of Dreadful Shadows and Zeraphine, are back with a new album. The debut album “Broken Grid” was released in 2008, followed by the “Resigned” EP the year after. Now two years later, Sven returns with the second studio album “Frontiers”.

Sven Friedrich is not any newcomer in the scene. He have been around with the Gothic Rock project Dreadful Shadows during the 90′s and for the last ten years he is the frontman in Zeraphine, who almost continued were the previous project left off which he created together with Dreadful Shadows member Norman Selbig.

Last year he appeared on the Destroid EP “Silent World” with vocals on the track “Lucretia My Reflection”. If you haven’t heard Solar Fake before – include me to that crowd before hearing this album – it is much more electronic than his other projects. With beautiful soundscapes and catchy melodies he deliver a very strong album in “Frontiers”. Alot of driving beats and constant shifting structure of the songs. Something I noticed right away when listening. It features melancholic songs like “More Than This” which can be described as something like a Futurepop anthem. But then it turns to something completely different. A much darker and heavier approach. The track “Parasites” witness pretty good on that. With distorted vocals it deliver something of a hybrid of bands like [:SITD:], Rotersand and Accessory. Just to in the next minute turn into something mellow and very emotional in “Where Are You”, with great and beautiful piano arrangement.

“Frontiers” is a very strong album, not only because of its constant change in songs I mentioned but also for its very addictive and impressive tracklist. Ranging from Industrial, Futurepop, 80′s influences and only a small glimpse of Gothic influences. The album have been played through many times and I still can’t find any bad song. Sven deliver something out of the ordinary here with both his touching voice and with the production. “Frontiers” impress me very much and I will put a big exclamation mark after the title for being one of this years highlights.

Mindless Faith : Just Defy [2012]

On their 5th album, "Just Defy", Mindless Faith continue to deliver a lethal dose of aggressive industrial anthems, ferocious, commanding vocals over crushing beats, awash with distorted synths and laced with overwhelming guitar riffs. Revolting against today’s all-too-common generic electronic sound, the band breaks new ground by including nightmarish psychedelics, outlandish ambient passages and brooding acoustic elements that showcase the member’s diverse musical ability and adds to their genre-defying style.

Chrysalide : Don't Be Scared, It's About Life [2011]

The self-proclaimed electro-punk-noize-terrorists Chrysalide have returned with their second full-length album, “Don’t Be Scared, It’s About Life” – and what a release this album is! Though many people will make obvious Skinny Puppy comparisons (a great deal of this being how eerily close the vocals seem on some songs), this album is no mere clone.

The whole of “Don’t Be Scared, It’s About Life” is jarring, intense and powerful and continually keeps you on edge. It provides aggressive, angry, punky electronics throughout, but also provides the listener with enough variety and ‘softer’ moments so that your ears are not completely bled out by the time you’re done listening to the album. Each successive listen shows a new element or sound I didn’t pick up previously, like the subtle orchestral sounds in “They Won’t Get Us”, the slightly Asian influences in the track “Cybernetic Babies”, or the dubstep elements found in “I Do Not Divert Eyes”. Also, soft piano melodies on some songs provide a sharp contrast to overwhelming aggression and anger. There are few introspective songs dispersed throughout to give your ears some rest, such as “Lizzie and the Charming Prince” and “Lovetape”. No matter what the song, though, there is always an element of madness, fear and a menacing aura in each track – sometimes it’s just below the surface, other times it hits you right in the face.

01 Who's Still Alive
02 Traders Must Die
03 Cybernetic Babies
04 I Do Not Divert Eyes
05 Anger Is A Show

Caustic : I Can't Believe We're Re-Releasing This Crap (2 x CD) [2012]

Rare is the artist where every album, nee every song, is instantly and unequivocally considered a classic. Rarer still does that artist reach and maintain a peak level in terms of both popularity and critical acclaim. Caustic, undoubtedly, is such an artist, and Metropolis is now re-releasing Caustic’s first two albums ‘Unicorns, Kittens, & Shit’ and ‘Booze Up and Riot’, originally from the Crunch Pod label, in a combined and expanded 2CD version!

2006’s controversial (and quickly sold out) ‘Unicorns…’ established Caustic as ‘The Artist to watch for awhile until the next VNV came out’, with eternally classic cuts ‘Emmanuel Lewis Handjob’, ‘MMM Papscraper I love You’ and ‘Love that Taint’ propelling Matt Fanale’s trademark raw, punk electronic sound into the forefront of several sub-sub-genres of industrial. ‘Booze Up and Riot’, with its legendary title track and others such as ‘Industrial Moustache Ride’ and ‘Mutilate’ followed in 2007, creating even more legion of fan for Caustic.
‘I can’t believe we’re re-releasing this Crap’ contains all of the original tracks from the two albums plus not less than 10 bonus tracks originally found on various compilations, EPs, and other rare releases. Also included in the liners booklet is a link for 20+ remixes, including the original 3 mixes found on UK&S from Mimetic, Keef Baker, and Cenotype, plus remixes from Grendel, God Module, Iris, Alter Der Ruine, XP8, and more. Guest appearances on the albums include the likes of COMBICHRIST’s Andy LaPlegua, ASSEMBLAGE 23’s Tom Shear, CHEMLAB’s Jared Louche, and underground comic legend Doug Stanhope. Experience the magic and revisit Caustic’s early, sublimely brilliant days of decadence, depravity, and d*ck jokes with this massive double-CD package! Then you can die happy…
